Satisfying the pretzel craving: Sweet or savoury?

Satisfying the pretzel craving: Sweet or savoury?

Let’s be honest, when it comes to food you’re either a sweet or savoury person. Interestingly, our tastebuds are genetically wired to be more sensitive to certain flavours, which in some part plays on our weaknesses for craving the sweet or salty.

Pretzels are traditionally a savoury snack, but luckily here at Pretzel we like to keep both sides of the fence happy. Our mouth-watering menu caters for both the sweet tooth and the salty.

Our most popular sweet and savoury pretzels include:

Top 5 Savoury Pretzels in Perth

And if you’re partial to sweet and savoury, then you can’t go wrong with the Salted Caramel pretzel – it’s the best of both worlds!

We love being amongst other foodies and there’s definitely no shortage of that in Perth. Here are some of our favourite food and joints serving up a whole new meaning to sweet and savoury:

Super Star Waffles is waffles reinvented and it has to be tasted to be believed. Each waffle is stuffed with different sweet or savoury flavours, then layered with other toppings to your sweet or savoury liking. You can try these pocket filled delights on Roe St in Northbridge.

If you’re a pancake lover then you can’t look past the signature Boston cream pancakes at Dark Horse Espresso. Ever heard of fried chicken on a pancake? Well you have now at Mary Street Bakery! If anything is certain, these fluffy sensations are sure to go down a treat.

Yep there is such a thing as a savoury donut and at Top Dup Donuts they don’t disappoint. Try the Salted caramel donut or Samoan Deluxe donut. And if you’re game go all out and try their HoneyBunz. As for their sweet selection? You could be standing for hours trying to decide – there are so many to choose from.

Dessert pizzas have Theo Kalogeracos written all over it. This pizza master has a pizza repertoire that will cure any craving. If you have yet to try his dessert pizzas, his award winning Mud Honey pizza is a must, but don’t just stop there!  Check out Theo & Co Pizzeria next time it’s pizza night.

Next time you’re craving something sweet or savoury, why not stop by our pink pretzel container in Northbridge or Whitfords, or pop into our shop at Carousel? Happy munching!
